1. Prices for wine will continue to fall.
2. Wine producers who don't get with the price-reduction program will lose market share and lots of money.
3. Even high-end restaurants will be looking for less expensive wines to cozen the dollars out of their patrons' pockets. I'm thinking of bon ton places like Babbo, where very good but less expensive wines are doing a great business.
To paraphrase Cyndi Lauper, "Lack of money changes everything."

My favorite from him was:
"Wine blogging will increase, mostly among those contending they’ve found spectacular bottles that will 'blow your doors off' for under $15 a bottle. As with all blogging, readers should be wary of the source of such claims"

AC, that's a good point, especially as we usually don't know the provenance of such wines. Chances are the amateur reviewer didn't purchase it himself.
